9 Months

Height: 28", 75%
Weight: 18lbs 4oz, 50%
Head: 45cm, 75%

One of her favorite books...

"Seriously mom. Enough with the camera business, I'm trying to read!"...

Helping out around the house...

"Whatdya got in there??"...

"Look what I found!"...

Mmmm. Ellery got her first tooth on March 5th! Here she is putting it to good use...

Lately Ellery has had this look in her eye... she is ready to see what this world is all about. Not only does she go after what she wants, once she retrieves it, she'll inspect it, shake it, drop it and of course put it in her mouth. Then look at us like "did you see that? Awesome!" A few of Ellery's favorite things are: Being outdoors, being on moms hip (facing outwards!), anything related to cheese-string cheese, cottage cheese, cream cheese..., books, magazines, bath time, Baby Genius, animal noises (which I am perfecting by the way), she is fascinated by strings, laces, ribbons, chains, loves being pushed on her trike, taking Nola to the park and the list goes on.

A few of her dislikes: Being on moms hip (facing inwards), having her face cleaned, getting in and out of the car and being away from mommy for too long... which is half annoying and half really sweet.

I haven't taken many pictures this month. Not sure why but I'm sure we'll make up for it next week in Mexico!! My dad just turned 60 so we're off to celebrate his old age in the land of tequila. I think he's hoping to drink away reality. :)

Adios, San Diego!

8 Months

This whole blog thing has been put on the back burner until now. Ellery is actually 9 months old today, so we're a little behind but I'm crossing it off my to-do list! We have been awfully busy since December and have really enjoyed sharing our little girl with family and friends.

Aunt Amy all the way from The Big Apple...

Elle's checkin' out the shirtless boy. Oh dear...

Lemon slice...

Whipped cream, much better...

I love seeing her poke her little head up when she hears footsteps. So much in fact, I wanted to capture it. Since this photo was taken we've had to drop her mattress down. She's been pulling herself up on just about everything...

And after a really good nap, you get this really good bed head...

Nope. No teeth yet. Considering I'm still breastfeeding, it's perfectly fine with me...

Ellery loved feeding the ducks at Lake Murray. Ducks. Not geese. You can see them making their way over in the background...

I hate those things. Last time we were there I was chased by a really aggressive one. And he was quick. (Haley, I totally get the whole monkey thing!) Yep, I hate those things...

Off you go Ellery. Mom's outta here...

Here's our little girl with a much larger and more docile creature, Nola. Hoping she'll drop a bit of that toast...

My Aunt Karen and Cousin Elisa came down for a sunny break from Sacramento. Too bad it rained almost the entire time they were here...

Here's the sun! My dad, Mary and their good friends, Rory and Lynette came down to visit. I love this picture taken at the Hotel Del. From the right: Rian, Jeff, Jordan, Vance, Marla, Zach (with little Elle), Mary, Lynette and Rory...

Happy Valentine's Day! Me with one of my sweethearts...

Cute Cousins...

After a shot (or two) of Tequilla we bet my dad he wouldn't jump into the icy pool for 20 bucks...

He then bet Jordan that she wouldn't do it for his 20. Then Jeff matched Grandpa's bet, so...

Then someone offered Zach $100 to do it in Marla's thong...

Phew!

Claire had a Fancy Nancy Party to celebrate her 5th Birthday! Everyone dressed in their fanciest ensembles and noshed on appetizers with frilly toothpicks. It was simply exquisite! Here's an action shot of the birthday girl, Jilly and George...

Thanks for helping out at bath time Jordy Lou...

Hanging out with her doggy. I truly think her first words will be "Nola! Quiet!" since she hears it so often. Speaking of milestones, Ellery started crawling this month! She prefers to be on her feet but considering she has not yet mastered that, she gets around pretty well on all fours...

Elle got her first fruit leather and if you couldn't tell by the look of her shirt, she thoroughly enjoyed it...

I was headed to the airport to pick up my mom and was stunned by the beauty of this sunset.
One more reason why we love San Diego...
