Ellery took her first step today!!
I had just emailed my sisiter-in-law saying how this month Elle's been on the fast track developmentally and off she goes taking that shaky first step. One day before she's 11 months old.

Ellery has grown so much this last month it's been hard to keep up. Things are happening at 10 months! I'd love to say I'm keeping track in some cute scrapbook with scalloped edged photos and sparkle stickers but it's just not gonna happen. This blog will have to do for now. I hope one day Ellery can look back on it and see what wonderful parents-- I mean what a wonderful childhood she had... in a 21st century kind of way. :)
Her 10th month started out in LA. Neither Zach or I had been to the Getty Museum so we thought we'd take advantage of being in the area. The grounds of the museum were stunning as well as the architecture. However, Elle was less than interested in the mid-century paintings the museum held so we spent much of the day outside which was well worth the drive.

Hola Mexico!!
We brought in my dad's 60th year (and my 29th) in Mazatlan, Mexico. We had a fabulous time doing... well... nothing. And loved every minute of it. This picture of Elle at the swim-up bar pretty much sums up the whole trip...
We ate, drank, swam and ate some more with my dad, Mary, Marla, Jeff, Jordan and Rian (and baby #3)...

Here's Elle with Mary! It was right here where she said her first word. All the sudden I hear "hi!" I look down at Ellery and she's waiving to a little black bird walking by. Too cute!...
Elle has started standing on her own and it won't be long before she takes that first step! Ready or not...
The resort was PERFECT for children! Beach-entry pools,
slides, caves,
playgrounds,
guacamole, (shaded lounge chairs perfect for napping!)
and drinks for mama!!...
Oh yeah, and a petting zoo! Not really, but the iguanas came so close you could touch them if you wanted. Not my favorite...
And neither was this market! If this place didn't turn you into a vegetarian, nothing will...
Show me your teeth! Elle now has 4! 2 on top and 2 on the bottom-all in 1 month, ouch!...
Ellery LOVED the pool and was all smiles while in the water. We're excited to swim with her in ours this summer. Too bad we don't have the swim-up bar. Zach?...

Our neighbors invited us over for brunch and an Easter Egg Hunt complete with golden eggs filled with cash. Elle was still a bit young but next year, it's on!
