SeaWorld and a C-section

We had a 'girls only' outing to Seaworld yesterday and had a blast...

Jordan cracks me up because she's not afraid to talk to anyone, and this girl can talk! She was telling a SeaWorld employee her thoughts on how they ought to be rescuing animals from the BP oil spill. As this conversation was taking place the employee's supervisor walked by and joined the conversation. He assured Jordan that they are in fact rescuing all kinds of creatures. Thumbs up SeaWorld!

I backed up to get this picture and Elle realized she was left with these bright, hairy monsters. I haven't seen her crawl in a month but there was no room for mistakes while making her escape. Crawling was her best bet...

Until Auntie Marla picked her up and foiled her plan...

But more importantly...
Turns out sea water aint the only water at Seaworld. Marla's water broke at Sesame Street's Bay Of Play!!
She'd kill me if I went into too much detail , so I'll just leave it at this...

I'm thrilled to announce that at 1:12 this morning I got a nephew!!! I spent the night with Jordan and Rian and when I got the call in the middle of the night that he was a boy, it was hard to believe. When Jeff came home with the camera in hand I had to zoom in on the picture to see the penis for myself. It's real! We FINALLY have a boy in the family!!!! He's such a handsome little guy. Just perfect. I love him already.

Here's his stats...
Weight 6lbs 11oz
Length 18" (I think)

It's weird to say "his" but it'll have to do for the time being because he still doesn't have a name! Get on it J & M! It was so funny last night because Rian, who is still learning how to say her last name "Salewsky" (which can be quite tricky for a two year old) told me that her brother's name should be "Kid Loogie". Ha! I'll make sure that one sticks around. :)

Congratulations Loogies!
Love all FIVE of you!

*more pics to follow. and a name!

Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day, DaDa!

We spent the evening at our local park for the "Sundays at 6 Summer Concert Series". There was no chance of Ellery sticking around with a playground in sight...

Ellery's first box of crayons...

Her latest discovery-toilet paper. Here's just one ribbon of it leaving the bathroom, through the hallway and into the kitchen. I thought it was funny the tp ended at the tupperware lids. 'Cause you know how much fun tupperware lids can be.
By the way, I'd like to add that I roll up all of the "gently used" tp and reuse it. The trees can thank me later...

You're 1!

What a year. I think Zach put it best as he scooped her up in his arms, "you're a whole lotta fun now that you're one!" So true. Ellery is gaining so much personality and has quite the sense of humor. She loves being chased and tickled, snuggling before bedtime, dancing to ALL of our kid music (thanks, mom!) and running around with socks in hand. I don't know what it is with socks but a true-to-life picture would be Elle cruising around the house with a sock in one hand and Vinko the bear in another. Here are a few of our adventures...

An afternoon at the Water Conservation Garden...

Water what? Let's go!...

After months of using sign language with Ellery, I'm happy to say she is now signing back! I wanted to teach her the basics to help the communication barrier between toddler and adult. It's been pretty cool to watch. She's so funny because she'll get right in my face and sign that she's hungry and if I get sidetracked she'll follow me signing the whole way. Every now and then she gets mixed up and will sign hungry, all done and more at the same time. Other signs we're working on: outside, help, dog, cat, milk, water, brush teeth, bath, please and thank you. Hopefully we'll have as much success with the next round...

The few remaining balloons from her birthday. She plays with these more than any of her actual gifts...

Wow. Looks like Elle's been trying to break into the wine fridge. Where are you Windex...

Best part of our mornings...

We celebrated George's 9th birthday at the San Diego Fair. It really doesn't get much better than this...

"My first Hot-Dog-On-A-Stick!" She actually only liked the corn part of her corn dog. Takes after her mother I guess...

Evan, George, Jilly, Claire and Barbara riding the Drop Zone...

Mallary and Jilly ...

And I had to add these pictures from the Heart Attack Cafe...

Fried stick of butter? Really?...

Ellery's favorite part: the livestock. I wonder if 4H is in her future?...

Fair=Filth. Elle was so dirty I had to strip her down before our drive home. We were stuck in traffic so I put on some kid songs while we waited. There I was belting out "Oh My Darling, Clementine" when I turned around and saw her snoozin'. She's isn't the only one who doesn't care for my singing. By the way, did you know that Clementine drowned? Her boyfriend couldn't swim, therefore couldn't save her and ended up getting together with her sister?? Damn! "...I kissed her little sister, and forgot my Clementine." "Dreadful sorry, Clementine" - I think not.

Bye!...
