Headed for Dog Beach!

Ellery started swim lessons last week and we LOVE it! After being let down by schedules that wouldn't work for us, pools closing for the season and classes being cancelled due to low enrollment, I was about to give up on finding a swim class until the spring. I was so thrilled to find out about this parent participation class held at the nearby hospital. We get into their therapy pool every Sat morning and with the water temp between 92 and 95 Elle couldn't be happier.

Let's go mama!

Viejas...

Mwaaa!...

Play Town with Cousin Rian!...

Happy Birthday Garrett!...

The double shot shotgun. Minus bullets. Plus tequilla...

"ta ta" Ellery's word for hot!...

We went to cheer on the cheerleaders! Susanna, our neighbor, is a jv cheerleader for Valhalla High School. Zach couldn't believe how small the stands were and I had to remind him we weren't in Texas!...

Ellery got a little antsy in those small stands...

SeaWorld!...

Abby's Sea Star Spin. Similar to teacups. Elle loved it. Me? Not so much.

First time finger painting!

Flour, water and food coloring. And this is why I made my own...

You got a little paint on your nose Nola...

Terrible Two's Already?

I think so. When Ellery had her 1 year check up the pediatrician asked if she had started trowing any tantrums yet. I answered "no" and thought to myself, "sweet Ellery? No no no. We had a while before those were going to start up." Wrong. About 2 months after that appt. we were eating popsicles on the front porch and Ellery decided she wanted mine as well as hers. I told her we could switch but that she only got 1 and I took hers. She tensed up, screamed and threw her popsicle to the ground and cried. I couldn't help but laugh because it was so ridiculous. At that moment I thought, "well here we go." I blame the popsicles for starting this whole thing. She's obsessed with them! Here she is hanging on the freezer door this morning...

I know, it was wrong for me to take a picture at that moment, but she'll laugh about it someday.

Unfortunately this new found independence goes beyond the popsicles. Half of her diaper changes are power struggles between us. I always win but sometimes the diaper ends up looking like this...

On a happier note, we had a great Labor Day Weekend! It started on Thursday when Heidi and the kids came out for a picnic at the park...

Friday evening we went to the Padres game...

The dessert cart came by the box!...

Saturday, Elle and I went to lunch with Mal and the kids. Forgot my camera.

Sunday, we took Elle to La Jolla Shores...

On Monday, cousins Jordan and Rian came over...

Elle climbed up and went down the slide all by herself. First time!...

She's so proud!...

Nola thinking she's one of the kids...
