Well, I made it to my appointment on Monday morning (4/18) and was close to 4cm. I had my membranes scraped to hopefully speed things up but Still No Baby! Every minute of every day (and night) I'm waiting for my water to break or for real contractions to begin - it feels like this baby is never coming! At this point, we can set up an induction whenever we choose to but we decided to give him til 40 weeks to make his debut. If we haven't met our baby boy by Tuesday, the 26th, then we are scheduled to go in at 6:45a.
Even with the little sleep I'm running on, I've kept fairly active. Partly because I want this baby to find the exit door but mostly for Ellery's sake. We spent this morning at the zoo which was exhausting but well worth it to see Elle laugh while feeding the goats. This last weekend was spent hanging with Grandma. On Saturday my mom took her to swim lessons and on Sunday we all went to Seaport Village and then took the ferry to Coronado. Such a beautiful day with all of her beautiful grandchildren. I'll post pictures soon. Maybe. :)
My neighbor stopped by this morning to see if there was any action and when I gave her the update she said "when it's time, that baby's gonna shoot right out!"... a girl can dream! ...

Baby Update & Adventures With Ellery
As of Monday morning (4/11) I was 3cm dilated with scattered and very mild contractions that were nothing to write home about. The doc seemed to think that I wouldn't make it to my next appointment (4/18) so my mom hustled down here to help out with Elle. Well, it's Friday and still nothin'. Our due date is the 25th so he's still got some time and I think he's decided to stay put a while longer. Maybe he overheard me talking to the pediatrician about circumcision.
We'll post an update if I make it to my appointment on the 18th, otherwise our next post may have a new family member in it!
I've been meaning to share these pictures for a while. While Dave, Kathy, Leah and Shana were in town we went to see Baby P with a 3D ultrasound. And what I can tell you is that he's definitely a boy and he's definitely got five toes, on one foot anyways! He did not want to cooperate which qualified us for a re-do the next day. I was told to drink a Slurpee and take the stairs to get him movin' before the next ultrasound... no luck. I was pushing it going in at 34 weeks as he had little room to move around but here are the shots we did come up with...
Here's his hand and arm covering a good portion of his face...

The next two are more attempts at seeing that sweet little face. Look hard and you can make out his nose and lips...

And last but not least, the penis. (bottom left side of picture)...

We had Jordan over for a sleepover while Zach was in Monterey and my sister was concerned it would be too much for an 8 1/2 month pregnant person. In fact, it was just the opposite. Jordan blew bubbles for Elle while she was in the bath, entertained her with our choo choo train and read her stories at bed time. It made my night easy. Thanks J!...

Killing time at the harbor while daddy's flight came in...

Art class at Gymboree. Super messy. Super fun...

We met up with Heidi and the deMerlier's for a quick trip to the Zoo...

Making necklaces for her cousins and messes for her mama...

Had to get a close up on that birds nest in her hair...

I tamed the beast and finally got her to let me put a ponytail in it. (only after telling her Rian always wears ponytails)
Here we are waiting for the trolley. For the 2nd or 3rd time. Zach and I weren't paying attention and jumped on the wrong one...

Air Time! with family and friends... but maybe too many strangers. Elle was having so much fun until the rush of spring breakers poured in...

I think it was a sensory overload for her. She found this room to be more her scene (and after some time so did, Rian, Bennett and Savannah) but after an hour she said "go go go" and left to find her shoes. We'll try that again when the kids are back in school. And yes, I think she's pulling an Al Bundy with her hand in her pants...

Then out to a late lunch with Grandma...

Then the Science Center...

This girl's got the life.

Less Than A Month
'Til we meet our baby boy! I guess that's why I've been extra sentimental when it comes to Ellery. I've really been soaking up these last few weeks of "just us". Maybe even trying to do a little too much. I'm tired by the time I load up the car let alone the activity we're heading out to do but all it takes is her little squeal of excitement to wake me up and savor the moment. So off we go...
Started off on the carousel in Balboa Park...

Next, the miniature train...

Through the Spanish Art Village...

Ending up at Kid City!...

Lake Murray...

Zoo bound...

La Jolla Shores with my beach baby...

Santee Lakes with Marla, Rian, Bennett, Melissa, Savannah and a ton of ducks...

I need a nap.
