Papa Dance came into town for a brief visit. We loved seeing you dad!...
We met up with Rita, Talon and Tia for a fun day at SeaWorld!...
My squeaky clean babies...
Zooin' it...
Elle carried her meerkat (which is actually a prairie dog) around the zoo all morning until we got to the meerkats. Here she is saying "hi nice to meet you"...
She got to pet a walking stick...
And feed the goats!...
February is Museum Month in San Diego and most museums are half off. This month flew by and we almost missed but we were able to squeeze a couple in last week.
Birch Aquarium...
Not too sure about entering the sharks mouth...
We found Nemo...
And Dory...
This kept Ellery and every other kid occupied for the longest time...
The New Children's Museum was a huge hit! We could have stayed all day if I had enough change for the parking meter...
Ellery and I had the most awesome date a mommy and her 2 1/2 year old could have... Dinner, which consisted of french fries and a giant sundae and her first concert, The Fresh Beat Band! The video below isn't the best quality but it pretty much sums up her enjoyment of the evening...
The second we stood up to leave she said "I want to go again!" We've been singing Fresh Beat tunes ever since.
She also got this piece of junk toy that cost $20 and didn't even last a day before it broke...
I stole this from my cousins blog. A series of questions you ask your child every six months or so to see how their responses change. Thanks Andi!
What is your name? Elry!
How old are you? 2
Favorite color: Green
Best friend: RiRi
Favorite animal: Monkey
What do you want to be when you grow up? KiKi (the guitarist from the Fresh Beat Band)
Favorite movie: Queen Movie (Cars)
Favorite Book: Queen Book
What makes you happy? Juice
What makes you sad/cry? She said water. I thought that was strange because she likes water so I re-worded it and asked her if there was something that doesn't make her feel good and she answered: "My gina" - with a long i. Explanation- Ellery loves oranges, pineapples, strawberries... acidic fruits that if eaten in large quantities, will irritate the, uh, "gina" region. I offered her strawberries this morning and she told me "not too many." I think we're in the clear with diapers in the past.
Favorite food: Fruit
Favorite song: KiKi's Song
Favorite game: Mommy's Phone (She was playing a PBS Photo Factory game when I was asking her)
Little Pannier Fun Facts:
- Ellery has been in big girl undies for 10 days! A few accidents here and there but you know when she asks to use the toilet at Target, she's got things figured out.
- She was looking at my toes the other day and was telling me which ones needed to be re-painted (it's been a while) and she pointed to my bunion and said "this one need paint" I said "hey! that's not a toe!" and she said "no, that's a hill!" Zach and I got a good laugh out of it.
- She loves to "shake her booey" and always looks back there to make sure she's got a good shake going.
- When Beck is crawling around she sits on his back and rides him without our permission. Kathy told me Zach did the same thing to his brother. Must be an older sibling thing.
- She HAS to have a hug and a kiss before bed and when we leave her at preschool. We gladly give them to her but they have to be good hugs and kisses. She's very particular. If her lips smear, Beck fidgets or the hug is sloppy = redo. Daddy HAS to get/give hugs and kisses before leaving for work or when anyone leaves our house. Which left her in tears the other day when Zach's buddy, Garrett, left and daddy didn't kiss him. An explanation of who gets kisses was needed.
- Beck has 2 more teeth poking through (top, front).
- He took SIX steps yesterday!!
- He's sleeping through the night, finally! (more recent update: NOT sleeping through the night! We had a good stretch but now he's up once, sometimes twice. Grrrrr. Teeth?)
- He's just as sweet and loveable as ever.
- We've been selling and donating our baby stuff that Beck is growing out of and it's breaking my heart. Zach is definitely content with two but there's a part of me that wants one more... then something like getting a chunk of hair pulled out, a whiney 2 year old, diaper blowouts, traveling (and more) will make me think "Nope. We're good." I was having a hard time getting the donate pile together until Zach said, "if we have another, we'll get another." I know he just said it to get the crap out the door and it did the trick.
