Beck & Ellery: April 2013

Time to catch up.

Our neighbor, Susanna won first runner up in the local pageant! Ellery loved seeing her on stage but got shy once up close...

Grandma Wanda's 40th birthday! hehe...

Finishing off the party with a good 'ol game of duck duck goose. Hilarious to watch Beck and Bennett play this game...

Had a few of our wonderful neighbors over for dinner...

And off to Mammoth! Zach's company has a stunning cabin there and we went up to get some snow time in. It was the kids first time in the real stuff (SnowWorld at SeaWorld doesn't count)...

While perusing our SoCal closets, I realized that the kids and I were not prepared for this trip. After borrowing some clothes from Rian, Katie, a few purchases online and from Craigslist, I thought we were set. Note to self: rain boots will not be sufficient in the snow. After 45 minutes Ellery was whining that her feet were "sooo freeeeeeeezing", hence the crabby face...

Ahhh, this is better...

Zach was super excited to go boarding this year and the kids loved watching him ride down the hill. Beck has been wearing Zach's helmet and sliding down the ramp into our playroom, mimicking daddy on the slopes...

Such a fun trip full of snow, laughter, champagne and Catch Phrase. Our gang: Annie, Jeff, Zach, Carolyn, Ellery, Mary, Beck, Ali, Katie and Mark...

There were moments on the 8 hour journey where I wanted to jump out and hitch-hike but overall, the kids did surprisingly well...

We're going on another road trip adventure at the end of the month. This time, Yosemite!

Back to the fake snow...

I had to snap a picture here. I've been trying to get Ellery in the polar bear cave at SeaWorld since she was tiny -- this time she went! With caution...

Elle got two steaming hot eggs from the coop! She was so proud of them and knew how fragile they were. So when she had one in each hand and tripped, she sacrificed her elbows and saved the eggs from breaking...
