4th of July Weekend!

We had a neighborhood softball game to kick off the weekend. The Corn Dogs vs. The Russell Road Blasters. The Corn Dogs took home bragging rights after Zach gave up his turn to bat to Winston, a 5 year old. I heard "we would have won if..." all day! We are so lucky to have such wonderful neighbors who put together softball games, chili and cheer parties, bonfires, Easter egg hunts and more. Our girlfriend Amy named our neighborhood "Pleasantville" after a neighbor had brought down eggs from her hens. Even if she wasn't visiting from NYC, I'd have to agree with her. It's our little piece of the country in the city. We love it here...

Wyatt and Susanna...

Our cheerleader taking a water break...

Daddy's up to the plate!...

**Zach just read this and asked why I didn't mention his "yard dawg" so here it is... ZACH HIT A HOME RUN!!! Way to go Z! You rock!

Even Cousin Jordan came to play!...

A shady spot in the bleachers...

Jordan scored a run with this hit!...

Happy 4th!
Our All American Girl...

Our attempt at watching the fireworks on our hill was squashed by weeds. Zach had cleared a path to the top a few months ago and so off we went, a baby in my arms and a flashlight in his. But we didn't make it too far. The weeds and brush had grown so big that nothing even resembled a path. So we watched them from the bottom and this is what we saw...

And that's with the camera fully zoomed in. Pathetic.

Ellery was so tired I think she was just as happy to see her crib.
She now holds her finger to her lips for "shhh" and says "ny ny"-so cute.
