Elle Update:
-I'm finally getting kisses from my girl! When I used to ask for one, she would lean in like "you may kiss the forehead" but now she's handing them out to her daddy and I, right smack on the lips. I love it!
-She's crazy about Baby Einstein, Elmo and this show called Pet Star (which I can't believe Mario Lopez agreed to host. It's pretty bad). Parrots that flush toilets, dogs that dance and pigs who push bottles into the recycle bin... you know, quality tv. Anyways, Elle gets a kick out of it so we have 2 recorded and it's fun to watch her clap with the audience. I get a case of the guilts when she watches tv but oh how nice to have those few minutes to do something for myself. Like laundry or dishes! Woohoo!
-Elle has started to create her own signs for certain things. Cookie, for instance, is now rubbing her thumb against the rest of her fingers like we would do for money. Help is another one. I'll ask her if she needs help and her hands go straight up in the air. Both are entirely different in the ASL world but whatever, I can understand her so I guess it's working.
-She is going through a hand holding stage that I never want to end. Not only does she reach up for my hand but once she grabs on, she giggles and starts running. Hang on!
Out to lunch to celebrate Mark and Katie's engagement. We're so excited for you guys! It's about damn time!...

When Grandma Kathy was out she taught Ellery "Eee I Eee I Oooooo" Here she is singing the ending....
It's August and we just played in our pool for the first time last week! It has been an unusually cool summer which has made our pool a chilly 70 degrees. But I'm not complaining. I love this weather. The cloudy mornings make me feel like I'm back at the beach. The only bummer is that I was really looking forward to getting Elle used to the pool. For now I've been filling up her mini pool with hose water and adding a huge pot of boiling water so she doesn't climb right out and sit on the slide like this...
Yay! My friend, Justin came down from Santa Monica yesterday. Thanks for making the drive. So good to see you J!
